What We Do
We develop sustainable solutions for the water and wastewater systems of the future. By combining applied research, technology development, and practical testing, we contribute to cleaner water, reduced environmental impact, and more circular resource management.
Our work focuses on the treatment of both municipal and industrial wastewater, where we develop and optimise resource-efficient treatment technologies. This includes the removal of micropollutants such as pharmaceutical residues and PFAS, water reuse, and nutrient recovery. We also work with biological and physico-chemical treatment processes, biogas production, measures to reduce nitrous oxide emissions, and a range of separation technologies, including membrane processes.
A technology-focused Team
We are a technology-focused team with strong expertise in innovative and energy-efficient solutions. Through our testbeds – SWIC (Sjöstadsverket Water Innovation Centre) in Stockholm and Testbed Storsudret on Gotland – we develop and evaluate technologies in real-world environments.
Examples of what we do include:
Developing and optimising water treatment technologies, including solutions for micropollutant removal and resource recovery.
Working with sustainable water and sludge resource management.
Operating and using pilot plants and test facilities to evaluate technologies using real wastewater.
