Focus Areas in Northern Sweden

Northern Sweden is at the centre of one of Europe’s most significant green industrial transitions. IVL works with businesses, municipalities, and other stakeholders across Norrbotten and Västerbotten to support the shift towards a more sustainable and resource-efficient society. Our projects and partnerships focus on areas such as the energy transition, circular economy, sustainable construction, and community development.

In Skellefteå, we collaborate with the Municipality of Skellefteå and our subsidiary CCBuild to accelerate circular practices in the construction and real estate sectors. Through networks, knowledge sharing, and digital solutions, we help make reuse a natural part of the building process. This work brings together research, industry, and the public sector in a region that is rapidly driving innovation and sustainable development.
