IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute’s head office is located in central Stockholm, in close proximity to KTH, Royal Institute of Technology. The office is easily accessible, for example via the red metro line from T-Centralen.

The Stockholm office is one of IVL’s largest and also includes laboratory operations. Just over 200 employees work here in a wide range of roles – from project managers and researchers to laboratory technicians and specialists. The red brick building features generous ceiling heights and covers approximately 4,500 square meters. The Stockholm office is also home to SWIC, the Sjöstadsverket Water Innovation Centre, IVL’s separate test facility.

At IVL, we work in activity-based offices, making it easy to collaborate across our knowledge-intensive organization, regardless of where employees are typically based. Workspaces are open, flexible, and adapted to different needs – from quiet environments for focused work to more dynamic areas for collaboration and dialogue. Laboratory and testing operations follow their own tailored working methods and regulations.
